ABOUT ME
I am a clinical counselor RCC MS (BCACC) with over 20 years’ clinical work experience Developing programs for people struggling with mental illness, couple’s conflicts, and familial trauma.
My approach to counseling is collaborative, warm, and non-judgmental. I believe that building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship is essential for helping each person I work with heal and grow.
My counseling practice is integrative, meaning I draw from different therapeutic models depending on each individual’s situation and needs. Therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and Mindfulness-Based Interventions. I’m fluent in Farsi, Afghan, and English. I also understand cultural and societal norms and expectations that are associated with these specific cultures.
